Home Vineyards

Location:
The vineyards of Zacharias family are located in the heart of Nemea area, on the slopes around village Leontio and they cover an area of 40 hectares. Nemea is an area particularly favoured by nature, owing its peculiarity to the microclimate and the terrain. That is probably the reason why it is the most known wine region of Greece, from antiquity until nowadays.

Varieties:
The first grapevines were planted in 1962. The selection of grape varieties consists of 13 varieties: the indigenous Greek varieties of Agiorgitiko, Roditis, Assirtiko, Sklava, Moschofilero, Mavrodaphne, Malagouzia, kidonitsa and the famous French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Cultivation:
The grape varieties are being cultivated by practicing an Integrated Viticultural Management System for the Production of Wine Grapes, according to standards AGRO 2.1 and AGRO 2.2 of the Organisation for the Certification and Supervision of Agricultural Products (AGROCERT). The main effort of the above-mentioned practice is to produce quality fruit respecting the vineyard, the environment, and of course the consumers.
